The power of an hour

The power of an hour.

Clock

“lost time is never found again”

This Sunday, the clocks go back, and we’re gifted something rare—an extra hour. An hour might not seem like much, but what if you made it count? What if this hour was the start of something bigger, a shift in your mindset and habits that could change the course of your month, or even your year?"

I was on my walk today and found myself thinking about how I was going to spend the extra hour. Do you consider this?

  • Will you relish an extra hour under the covers getting more sleep?

  • Will you get out and do some exercise?

  • Will you treat yourself to an hour with a good book snuggled on the sofa?

  • Will you use it to learn something new?

  • Will you cherish an extra hour with your loved ones?

OR

Have you not even considered it, and will you just allow it to get absorbed into the normal routine of your day?

I have already found myself creating a mental list of what I could do with this gift of extra time. One of the common patterns I see in myself and the women I coach is that we have a tendency to overestimate what we can achieve in an hour and underestimate what we can do in a month.

We often think we need hours, days, or even weeks to make meaningful progress, but what if one focused, intentional hour is all it takes to set powerful things in motion?

What would it mean to your health if you used the hour to do some exercise and get oxygen flowing through your system?

What would it mean in your relationship if you prioritised having some sexy time?

What would it mean to your soul if you lit a candle, got peaceful, meditated and allowed yourself to journal on your desires for next year?

What would it do for your mindset if you allowed yourself to look back and focus on everything you have achieved this year?

What would it do for your friendships if you took the time to have a long phone call instead of sending a quick text?

What would it mean to your family if you were fully present with them for an hour and had a beautiful breakfast talking about your favourite moments from the week

What if you took an hour to plan, reflect, or take the first step that could lead to momentum that carries you far beyond what you expect.

So, this is my encouragement to you…

Be INTENTIONAL about the gift of this extra hour. MAKE IT COUNT!

It doesn’t matter what you choose to do with it, just do something.

What if being intentional for this hour leads you to carving an hour each week just for you? What would that give you?

This extra hour could be the seed that grows into something much bigger. Maybe you don’t just spend one hour on yourself this Sunday. Maybe it’s the start of a routine—an hour each week, or even each day, that’s dedicated to your growth, goals, and well-being. What will you look back on 30 days from now and be proud you started with this extra hour?

You have 168 hours in a week, and this Sunday, you’re gifted one more. Use it wisely. This hour could be the one that sparks change, pushes you forward, and shows you just how much power you truly have over your time—and your life.

On Sunday I will post an image on my Instagram page of how I have chosen to spend those precious 60 extra minutes. If you are not following me yet you can follow me HERE.
